The information about the number of Blue Lock episodes was revealed earlier at an event attended by the main cast: Soma Saito (Hyoma Chigiri), Kazuki Ura (Yoichi Isagi), Yuki Ono (Rensuke Kunigami) and Tasuku Kaito (Meguru Bachira). Tetsuaki Watanabe is directing. Kenji Tanabe and Kento Toya are in charge of character designs. Taku Kishimoto is doing series composition. Jun Maruyama is composing the music, while Taku Kishimoto is g off on the script. The theme songs include:
The anime is based on a manga written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. Kodansha licensed the manga and describes the plot as:
