The anime adaptation of the Bye Bye, Earth series received a trailer and visual at today’s New York Comic-Con Crunchyroll . The anime will premiere in 2024. Studio LIDEN FILMS is animating it, under the direction of Yasuto Nishikata. Sota Yokote is the assistant director. Hiroyuki Yoshino is doing the series composition, with Yuki Hino on the character designs. Kevin Penkin is composing the music. Fairouz Ai will be voicing Belle Lablac. 4a5r2r
The Bye, Bye Earth anime is based on a 2000 novel of the same name written by Tow Ubukata and illustrated by Yoshitaka Amano. Initially published by Kadokawa, the novel got a new edition under the Kadokawa Bunko imprint, with illustrations by Hyung-Tae Kim in 2007. A manga adaptation by Ryu Asahi ran from 2020 to 2022 in Young King OURs magazine.
The Bye, Bye Earth is a co-production between Crunchyroll, WOWOW, and Sony Pictures Entertainment Japan. Crunchyroll describes the plot as:
In a world of anthropomorphic animals, Belle Lablac was born as the only human being. Having no fangs, fur, or scales, she was called “Faceless,” and she lived a lonely life with no one else she could identify with. “I want to be part of the world…” With such longing in her heart, she decides to set out on a journey to find her roots, carrying the Runding, a great sword as tall as she is.
