Call of the Night anime released a preview trailer and images for episode 12 along with the title and synopsis. The episode will be broadcast on September 25 and the title is “My Parent Isn’t Home Today,” which matches the manga’s 42nd chapter compiled in the 5th volume. The next episode seems to adapt the manga’s 40th, 41st, 42nd, and 43rd chapters. 193z
The preview images show the protagonist Ko Yamori, his childhood friend Mahiru Seki, vampire Nazuna Nanakusa, and detective Anko Uguisu.
The episode’s synopsis describes the protagonist’s mental state affected by the detective:
A vampire who hasn’t sucked blood for 10 years was killed by Anzu. Ko starts worrying after she tells him that he knows nothing about vampires. Mahiru also asks him about what he would like to do after he becomes a vampire, which makes him worry further.
“That’s right. I know nothing about vampires,” this week’s preview trailer begins with Ko Yamori’s defeat. “Hey, hey, I can’t hold back anymore. Can I do it now?” Nazuna Nanakusa’s limit is reached. The protagonist re the vampires he has met so far. The vampire’s little chat concludes the video: “I was really reaching my limit and was on the verge of losing my mind.“

Kotoyama has been running the Call of the Night series in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday. The series released its thirteenth volume on September 15, 2022. The manga was named after Creepy Nuts’ song of the same name, “Yofukashi no Uta” in Japanese. The band is performing both the opening and ending songs titled “Daten” and “Yofukashi no Uta” respectively. LIDENFILMS is animating the adaptation under Tomoyuki Itamura’s direction.
