Kenjiro Tsuda is ing the cast of the Chainsaw Man as Kishibe, a Public Safety Devil Hunter from Tokyo Special Division 1. The information was revealed during a special screening event for the anime premiere, for which the main cast Kikunosuke Toya (Denji), Tomori Kusunoki (Makima), Shogo Sakata (Aki Hayakawa), and Fairouz Ai (Power) were present, along with director Ryu Nakamura. A new trailer was also revealed, along with the opening theme song “KICK BACK” by Kenshi Yonezu. Each episode will have a different ending theme, for a total of 12 episodes. In addition to Kenjiro Tsuda, the Chainsaw Man cast is also welcoming:
Kenjiro Tsuda is a prolific voice actor, well-known in the anime community. He has voiced Atomic Samurai in One-Punch Man, Overhaul in My Hero Academia, Matoba Kei in Cop Craft, Lero Ro in Tower of God, Seto Kaiba in Yu-Gi-Oh, Hannes in Attack on Titan (after the second season), and Tatsu in The Way of the Househusband.
Studio MAPPA is animating the Chainsaw Man anime, with Ryu Nakayama as the director. Kazutaka Sugiyama is doing character designs, while Kiyotaka Oshiyama is credited for creature designs. Kensuke Ushio is composing the music. The first trailer was revealed in June of last year. will be streaming the anime overseas.
The anime is based on a manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto. The first part originally ran from 2018 to 2020 and ended after 97 chapters and 11 volumes. The continuation, dubbed Part 2, began on July 13 on the Shonen Jump+ platform.
Viz Media licensed the manga in English and describes the plot as:
Denji’s a poor young man who’ll do anything for money, even hunting down devils with his pet devil Pochita. He’s a simple man with simple dreams, drowning under a mountain of debt. But his sad life gets turned upside down one day when he’s betrayed by someone he trusts. Now with the power of a devil inside him, Denji’s become a whole new man—Chainsaw Man!
