MAPPA’s Chainsaw Man anime unveiled the jacket cover illustrations for the first volume of Blu-ray and DVD along with information about bonuses. The volume compiles the first three episodes and will be released on January 27, 2023. It was also announced that the anime will hold a special event on May 20, 2023. 4f1r3l
Before we get to the first volume, the special storage box (available on MAPPA’s shop, more information below) has an illustration that references famous Hollywood movies: The Shining (Denji), Kill Bill (Power), Clockwork Orange (Aki Hayakawa), and Jurassic Park (Pochita). More illustrations will come later.
The jacket illustrations for Volume 1 show the Chainsaw Man in black and white, opening his mouth and being covered with blood on the cover. A note can be spotted at the bottom right corner saying [the product in] the image is in the process of supervision.
The anime will have a total of four Blu-ray and DVD volumes, available at the prices of ¥7,480 (≒$54) for Blu-rays per volume and ¥6,380 (≒$46) for DVDs per volume. For those who purchase all volumes, a maker bonus will come as a smartphone ring of the Chainsaw Devil Pochita. MAPPA’s official shop, two bonus items are available: the special box mentioned above, and acrylic stands of characters using newly-drawn illustrations.
The special event is divided into two parts, matinee and evening. It will hold live performances by artists, a stage by the cast where viewers can feel the world-building of the anime. Goods with art limited to the event will be available. The first two volumes of the Blu-ray and DVD will compile a priority ticket to apply for the sale of the ticket; volume 1 for the matinee and volume 2 for the evening. The attendees are listed as:

Animation studio MAPPA is animating the Chainsaw Man anime based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga of the same name serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from December 2018 to January 2021 with a total of 11 volumes. The series’ second part is being published on Shueisha’s online manga service Shonen Jump +. The series sured 16 million circulating copies most anticipated Anime of Fall 2022 by fans.
