Voice actors Natsuki Hanae and Ayumi Mano, who voiced Duke and his maid Alice in The Duke of Death and His Maid anime, sent congratulatory messages after the finale of Inoue’s The Duke of Death and His Maid. The series concluded the story with the sixteenth volume on July 12. 695f53
The Duke, Natsuki Hanae’s comment:
“Congratulations on the finale! The manga made me laugh with the characters’ conversations, made me feel nervously excited, yet made my heart ache, and kept me curious all the way about how the story would go on, and I talked about the development toward the climax with cast at the recording sessions. I have played only halfway through the story in the anime, so I’m so thrilled that I can’t wait to see the last scene soon. I will work with all my might, so please look forward to the anime.“
The Duke’s maid Alice, Ayumi Mano’s comment:
“Congratulations on the finale! The work has, from the start to the end, always made me feel warm. Seeing the Duke and Alice made me realize again that loving a person, and being loved are really wonderful. As with my working for the series as the role of Alice, I’m truly glad that I met the work ‘The Duke of Death and His Maid’.”
Inoue was running The Duke of Death and His Maid manga on Shogakukan’s Sunday Webry from October 2017 to May 2022. The series inspired an anime adaptation animated by J.C. STAFF with CGI by Shogakukan Music & Digital Entertainment. The anime aired from July to September 2021 with a total of 12 episodes, and the show is receiving a second season in 2023.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga for English releases and describes the plot of Volume 1 as:
