Ryohgo Narita, whose works include the popular Durarara!! and Baccano! light novel series, revealed that he plans to resume work on both series when his workload reduces. In a reply to the Animate Store’s new Durarara!! exhibition in Ikebukuro, he said, “Animate has decided to hold a Durarara-only shop! Narita was Fate media to be released in 2024 and beyond.
Durarara!! concluded in January 2014 after 13 volumes, before Durarara!! SH began in the same year. The series has since stalled, with the latest Volume 4 last released in 2016. Both were published in ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Bunko imprint. Hulu streams the anime adaptation in the U.S., directed by Takahiro Omori and animated by Brain’s Base. The series totaled 60 episodes, and is described:
Mikado Ryugamine moves to Ikebukuro, Tokyo and enters school there. According to his childhood friend, Masaomi, there are two untouchable men in the area. After Mikado sees a jet black motorcycle with a headless ride, a series of random attacks and events begin to occur on the streets of Ikebukuro.
