Genshin Impact's Yu-Peng Chen Leaves miHoYo and HOYO-MiX 683543

Yu-Peng Chen, the composer behind Genshin Impact’s now-iconic soundtrack, has left miHoYo and HOYO-MiX, the in-house music studio. In a post on his Bilibili , Chen stated that he left the company to pursue his creative dreams and that he is thankful for his colleagues’ over the years. He said that he enjoyed watching Genshin Impact grow and praises Fontaine’s music (it is not clear if he had a part in it). The composer also announced that will release an instrumental album in 2024. In the final part of his message, Chen promises to visit Tevyat with everyone as a Traveler. 29q4e

Genshin Impact was the first video game work for Yu-Peng Chen. Prior to ing HOYO-MiX he also worked on the soundtrack for Moonlight Blade, a martial arts-themed MMORPG by Tencent Games. The 39-year-old composer is known for his music in The Last Tycoon (2012) and The Founding of an Army (2017).

Genshin Impact currently has over 20 albums that feature tracks heard in the game. These range from regional music, boss tracks, battle themes, and character trailers to event-specific tracks. The tracks can be found on HOYO-MiX channels.

In addition to composing, Yu-Peng Chan can also be heard in the Genshin Impact soundtrack. He sang certain parts of the Scaramouche boss theme, “Polumnia Omnia.” He also composed and arranged the track.
