Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle movie revealed a special big hit “Thank You” trailer featuring the Karasuno High team. The movie had one of the biggest openings ever in Japan, and it earned over 7 billion yen in the first 31 days, with over 4.91 million issions. Haruichi Furudate wrote and drew the original Haikyu!! manga, which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2012 to 2020. It ended with 405 chapters, compiled into 45 volumes. Viz Media licensed it in English, and they describe the story:

Production I.G produced the TV anime adaptation as well. The first season aired in 2014, followed by the sequel which started in the fall of 2015 and finished during the Winter 2016 season. The third season ran for 10 episodes in Fall 2016, covering Karasuno vs Shiratorizawa. Season 4 was titled Haikyuu!! To the Top, and it ran for 25 episodes over two cours – Winter 2020 and Fall 2020. In addition to the TV anime and recent movie, the franchise also spawned multiple recap movies, OVAs, side stories, stage plays and games.
