VTuber agency Hololive has announced a new collaboration with its talent Gawr Gura and the Sendai Umino-Mori Aquarium. The collaboration will be open for a limited time, starting from January 20 to February 29, 2024. 5g143j
This event will be held by the Japan Tourism Agency (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism) in collaboration with the City of Sendai and Gawr Gura as part of Japan’s Blue Tourism Promotion Initiative. In this collaboration, the City of Sendai and Gawr Gura will be promoting Sendai and the surrounding coastal areas, attracting travelers from Japan as
well as overseas.
During the period, the “Gurarium in Sendai Umino-Mori Aquarium” will be featuring a newly drawn life-size of Gura, as well as a welcome movie and introductions of creatures by Gawr Gura herself. There will also be a sardine show titled “Sparkling of Life” at The Sparkling of Life in the Ocean central tank, and performances by dolphins and sea lions at the UMINO MORI Stadium, “STADIUM LIVE ~We Are One~”.
The programs will feature Gawr Gura’s voice in the narration and music by hololive production. In addition, collaboration food, drinks, and merch featuring newly drawn illustrations of Gawr Gura are scheduled for sale.
The recent Gawr Gura collaboration plays off with the VTuber agency’s event brand Hololive Meet, which was launched in April 2022 to aid Hololive in extending their reach towards more international events. It is also worth noting that Gura, alongside fellow talents Mori Calliope and Sakura Miko have been named as official Tokyo Tourism ambassadors back in February this year.
