The song is insanely popular worldwide. The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) reported that it was certified platinum a few days ago, which means that it has shipped over 250,000 copies since its release on October 14 this year. In addition, Oricon also keeps announcing how LiSA’s song is dominating their charts. The latest news is that it’s still on top after 9 consecutive weeks! The only other song to ever hold first place for 9 weeks was Kenshi Yonezu’s “Lemon” back in 2018.
The song was also the first to reach 100 million plays, as highest grossing film of all time in Japan. Don’t forget that there’s also a ton more material left of the manga, and it’s surely to get animated as well.
LiSA’s “Homura” will definitely go far above 100 million views on YouTube and elsewhere, and I’m looking forward to her future songs!
