The Love Live game Love Live School Idol Festival 2 MIRACLE LIVE revealed on Thursday that it will be ending its service on May 31, 2024. The pre-registrations were also opened a few minutes after the closure announcement of the game that is set to release in February.

The news has stirred a wave of discontent among fans, with some questioning the point behind releasing a game featuring in-app purchases only to terminate its services shortly after. Others question if this was the first gacha game to announce its release date and end-of-service date on the same day. Some resort to humor, suggesting that if players become school idols maybe they can save the game which parallels the plot of three love live generations.

Despite the backlash, the developers of the game mentioned that they appreciate the love and the fans have shown, and they promise to commit to making the last few months an unforgettable moment.

LOVE LIVE School Idol Festival 2 MIRACLE LIVE was initially revealed at the formerly known as Sunrise). The project released its first-ever installment in 2010 with Love Live! School Idol Project. The franchise also previously launched a rhythm game Love Live! School Idol Festival in 2013 and Love Live! School Idol Festival ALL STARS in 2019.
