The pre-registrations were also opened a few minutes after the closure announcement of the game that is set to release in February. The news has stirred a wave of discontent among fans, with some questioning the point behind releasing a game featuring in-app purchases only to terminate its services shortly after. Others question if this was the first gacha game to announce its release date and end-of-service date on the same day. Some resort to humor, suggesting that if players become school idols maybe they can save the game which parallels the plot of three love live generations. The franchise also previously launched a rhythm game Love Live! School Idol Festival in 2013 and Love Live! School Idol Festival ALL STARS in 2019.
