As announced yesterday, Makoto Shinkai’s latest movie, Suzume no Tojimari, revealed a teaser trailer. The movie will premiere on November 11 of this year in Japan. The international release date and the official English title haven’t been revealed yet. 5n2m5d
To commemorate the release of the teaser trailer, the official Twitter hosted a Twitter Space with the director Makoto Shinkai, who commented on the teaser on his official Twitter:
This is a special video for Suzume no Tojimari. Although it is a short clip, it is also a product of the skill, sweat, and love of the staff and creators, including animation director (Kenichi) Tsuchiya and art director (Takumi) Tanji. I hope you can look forward to the autumn movie, imagining the journey that will come in the future.
The Suzume no Tojimari movie is an original work by Makoto Shinkai, who is both directing and writing the screenplay. Masayoshi Tanaka is doing character designs, with Takumi Tanji as the art director. The movie appears to be another fantasy story, similar to Shinkai’s previous works such as Your Name and Weathering With You. CoMix Wave Films is animating it.
