MAPPA’s baseball anime Boukyaku Battery revealed its release date and two new trailers featuring the opening and ending themes. Mrs. GREEN APPLE will perform “Lilac” for the opening while Macaroni Empitsu will perform the ending song “Wasure na Uta.” Boukyaku Battery is set to release on April 9, 2024. Boukyaku Battery adapts Eco Mikawa’s manga of the same name, serialized on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ platform since April 2018. The series has been collected into 17 volumes, with the latest released in January 2024. The Boukyaku Battery anime is directed by Makoto Nakazono with Michiko Yokote handling the screenplay. Noriko Itou is in charge of the character designs and will work as the chief animation director while Hisako Akagi will work as the art director.

In the middle school baseball world, there was an undefeated formidable pitcher named Haruka Kiyomine, and a sharp-witted catcher known as the ‘strategist,’ Kei Kaname. Despite receiving scouting offers from powerhouse schools across the nation, they both unexpectedly chose to attend a relatively unknown baseball school. Furthermore, Kei suffered from amnesia and had lost all knowledge related to baseball. And by chance, other prodigies who had once been defeated and distanced themselves from baseball also ended up enrolling in the same high school…
