Mob Psycho 100 anime recently posted on Twitter asking fans whether they knew that may 12 was Mob’s birthday and asking them to “make note of that date”. The anime announced the third season in October of 2021 with a teaser visual, but since then no new information has been revealed. 4y2o6p
The third season was announced after a 100-day countdown on the official Twitter page that started on July 12th, which was also the 5th anniversary of the first season’s premiere. Studio BONES is returning to animate the sequel, with Takahiro Hasui as the director. Hiroshi Seko is in charge of series composition, while Yoshimichi Kameda is once again doing character designs. Kenji Kawai is composing the music. Watch the announcement trailer below:
Mob Psycho 100 is based on a manga by ONE, who is also known as the author of One Punch Man. It started serialization in Ura Sunday magazine in 2012. The manga ended in 2017, after 101 chapters (16 volumes). A spin-off series Mob Psycho 100: Reigen was serialized from 2018 to 2019.
The first season of the Mob Psycho 100 anime, by studio BONES, aired in the Summer of 2016. The second season followed in 2019. The franchise also has a side-story titled Mob Psycho 100 II: The First Spirits and Such Company Trip – A Journey that Mends the Heart and Heals the Soul, as well as a Mob Psycho Mini omake and a recap episode titled Mob Psycho 100 Reigen: The Miraculous Unknown Psychic.
