ONE PIECE continues this week with episode 1001 after the amazing milestone episode 1000. We see the Straw Hats grouped and ready, while Queen wonders about Babanuki’s call from Udon. Meanwhile, X-Drake wants to move against Kaido, and invites Hawkins as well. We get a look at the Tobi Roppo after King calls them, and then Who’s Who calls X-Drake to go to where Queen is. Unfortunately for him, they know that he’s a traitor, and they corner him after a quick act. 6c3f4z
We see him have a flash back to Koby, and he does manage to escape, which brings us the best part of the episode. After the giant Numbers got in their way, we see Zoro and Jinbei demonstrate a little of their ability by stopping them and saving the samurai. Then Luffy comes along, deciding to handle them on his own. We see a throwback to the Straw Hats fighting Oars back on Thriller Bark. Back then, it took all of them to take him down, and even then they barely did it. Luffy also mentions this, and that things are different now. They’ve all grown a lot, and he can easily take down an opponent of this level on his own now.

He immediately goes into Gear Four, Bounce Man, and is ready to finish it in one shot. At that moment, X-Drake appears, just in time to take down a second giant that appeared, and the animation for this sequence is beautiful. X-Drake then re Koby’s words about Luffy, and asks him to their side in the fight against Kaido.
You can watch episode 1001 of the ONE PIECE anime on either Funimation or Crunchyroll. Episode 1002’s title is “A New Rivalry! Nami and Ulti!” and it will premiere next Sunday on December 5.
