The Manmeyer Clan was revealed on October 29, 2023, as part of one of the mysterious lineages that comprise Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece manga, known as the “One Piece Founding 20.” The Founding 20 refers to the 20 kings who allied 800 years ago, establishing the foundations of the World Government today. These families fought against the Ancient Kingdom which has reentered relevancy recently in the current Egghead arc. One Piece chapter 1096 picked up from chapter 1095, where readers now understand the events of God Valley. Alongside the images of the Manmeyer clan, fans witnessed a rabbit-hunting game for the world nobles which was a euphemism for saying ethnic cleansing was taking place. The backstory of how Bartholomew Kuma gained his devil fruit was revealed, alongside an explanation of Ivankov’s surprise that Kuma forgot her far back in the Marineford arc. While some fans were left satisfied, many voiced concern at how one of the most foreshadowed battles concerning the Rocks Pirates, Roger Pirates, and the Holy Knights could conclude so quickly. It remains unclear what the plot of chapter 1097 will be, which is set to release on Sunday, November 5, 2023.
Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece manga debuted in July 1997 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The series has published 106 volumes with volume 107 recently revealing its One Piece anime’s 25th anniversary, celebratory projects have been announced with many more on the way.
