The third episode is titled “Mahiro’s Close Encounter.” The protagonist Mahiro Oyama (Marika Kono) rushes into the bathroom of his house and finds an unknown female high school student sitting there. The girl with a striking appearance is Kaede Hozuki (Yasuko Kanemoto), Mihari’s old classmate from their junior high. The first meeting makes Mahiro feel nervous, due to his past male self, but Kaede’s friendly character helps them to get along with each other soon. And now, out of the blue, she approaches Mahiro and asks “Mahiro-chan, you have never done it, have you…?” What will she tell the panicked Mahiro?
In the preview trailer, for which the manga’s author Nekotofu wrote the script, Mihari asks whether Mahiro takes care of his skin or not and receives a negative answer. Then she gets surprised at her brother’s smooth skin and silky hair.
ONIMAI: I’m Now Your Sister! anime is being produced based on Nekotofu’s manga of the same name. The creator originally launched the series under his solo doujin group GRINP. Kodansha’s subsidiary company Ichijinsha picked it and published the first compiled volume as the commercial edition in June 2018. The series has also been serialized on the company’s Monthly Comic REX since April 2019. The latest, 7th, volume was released on January 7, 2023, along with the 3rd volume of the manga’s anthology.
Kodansha USA is publishing the manga in English and the 6th volume was digitally released in October 2022. The official website describes the plot of the series as:
Mahiro Oyama was just a normal erotic-game-loving dude…until he woke up one morning as a woman! Turns out his mad-scientist little sister, Mihari, tried out one of her new experiments on him…with a disastrous outcome, as far as Mahiro’s concerned! But Mihari is as determined to study him as he is determined to go back to his shut-in, game-playing life, and one thing’s for sure…life is going to get a whole lot weirder from here on out!
