Overlord: Holy Kingdom Arc Movie Gets Teaser Visual 3s5p17

Overlord anime released a teaser visual for the franchise’ new movie adaptation Overlord: Holy Kingdom Arc, which will cover The Paladin of the Sacred Kingdom arc from the light novels. It was announced during a special program streamed on YouTube on August 19. The anime revealed the film adaptation project on May 8, 2021. You can see the new visual: f1a6g

The new visual shows Remedios Custodio (left) looking down and Neia Baraja (right) looking up while facing opposite directions, with the overlord Ainz Ooal Gown behind them.

TV Anime Overlord’s official Twitter released a teaser visual for the film adaptation.

The program was recorded as a public event held on July 30, 2022 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the light novel series since the first volume was published on July 30, 2012. Satoshi Hino, the voice actor of Ainz Ooal Gown/Momonga, cancelled his attendance at the event due to his positive diagnosis of COVID-19. The video is scheduled to be available until 11:59 p.m. on February 19, 2023. You can check the stream with English subtitles on KADOKAWA’s official YouTube channel below:

Kugane Maruyama writes the story of the Overlord light novel series with art by so-bin. The series released Volume 1 on July 30, 2012. Studio Madhouse animated the adaptation and is currently producing Overlord Season 4 under Naoyuki Ito’s direction. The franchise also has a short anime series, titled Ple Ple Pleiades. The fourth season of it is being directed by Minoru Ashina and airing concurrently with the new season. The new Overlord: Holy Kingdom Arc movie will cover The Paladin of the Sacred Kingdom arc, depicted in the light novel series’ 12th and 13th volumes.

Yen Press licensed the light novel series for English releases and describes the plot of Volume 12 as:

The Sacred Kingdom has enjoyed a great many years without war thanks to a colossal wall constructed after a historic tragedy. They understand best how fragile peace can be. When the terrible demon Jaldabaoth takes to the field at the head of a united army of monstrous tribes, the Sacred Kingdom’s leaders know their defenses are not enough. With the very existence of the country at stake, the pious have no choice but to seek help wherever they can get it, even if it means breaking taboo and parlaying with the undead king of the Nation of Darkness!
