Solo Leveling is officially being adapted into a live-action series, as confirmed by Kakao Entertainment in a new update. Scriptwriting and planning are currently underway. It was reported in 2021 that there was a US-produced drama in development, although it’s unclear if the two projects are related to each other. No details about the cast have been revealed.
This development follows the success of the Solo Leveling in other mediums, including the recently launched Solo Leveling Season 2: Arise From the Shadow and the mobile game that has achieved significant global traction since its launch. They also write that the anime ranked #1 on Amazon Prime TV Shows in Japan and entered the weekly TOP 10 in 11 countries on Netflix.
The story follows the world’s ‘weakest hunter’ Sung Jinwoo, as he gets a way to level up in a world where it is otherwise impossible. The Solo Leveling anime was previously also anticipated show of Winter 2025 this season.
