The Banished Former Hero Lives as He Pleases revealed a second key visual for the anime adaptation which will begin airing on April 1. The anime will have a stage at KING AMUSEMENT CREATIVE’s booth at this year’s Anime Japan, attended by Shota Aoi (Allen) and Minami Kurisaka (Reeds). The Banished Former Hero Lives as He Pleases (Dekisokonai to Yobareta Moto Eiyu wa, Jikka kara Tsuihosareta node Suki Katte ni Ikiru Koto ni Shita) will adapt the light novel series written by Shin Kozuki and illustrated by Chocoan that began publishing in 2018 under TO Books. The series originally started out as a web novel. A manga adaptation by Karasurmaru is currently going in Comic Corona magazine.
J-Novel Club recently licensed the light novel in English and describes the plot as:
Deemed a “good-for-nothing” for his low level and lack of a god-given Gift, Allen is stripped of his noble status and banished from the Duchy of Westfeldt. But Allen has a secret: he was a great hero in a previous life, and he’s thrilled for the chance to finally live the way he pleases!
