The Eminence in Shadow‘s collaborative post on the official Twitter page begins with the Overlord series’ protagonist, Ainz Ooal Gown’s speech: “Applaud! Applaud my supreme power!” That has a great impact on the protagonist of The Eminence in Shadow, Cid Kageno: “This line with this pose is super cool! I guess I’ll give it a try in front of Alpha and others?”
In the meantime, Overload Season 4‘s collaborative post on the anime’s official Twitter page begins with The Eminence in Shadow‘s protagonist’s speech as Shadow: “We, Shadow Garden, are not the ones to follow the good or the evil paths. We are just the ones to walk our own path.” That also impresses Ainz Ooal Gown as Satoru Suzuki: “I see. When you have to take the lead of this many people, the kind of language matters. I’ve learned a lot.“

The Eminence in Shadow written by Daisuke Aizawa and illustrated by Azunishi and Overlord written by Kugane Maruyama and illustrated by so-bin, both the light novel series began as web novels and were published under Kadokawa’s Enterbrain. Studio Nexus is animating the Eminence in Shadow anime this season.
Yen Press licensed The Eminence in Shadow light novel for English releases and describes the plot of Volume 1 as:

Even in his past life, Cid’s dream wasn’t to become a protagonist or a final boss. He’d rather lie low as a minor character until it’s prime time to reveal he’s a mastermind…or at least, do the next best thing-pretend to be one! And now that he’s been reborn into another world, he’s ready to set the perfect conditions to live out his dreams to the fullest. Armed with his overactive imagination, Cid jokingly recruits to his organization and makes up a whole backstory about an evil cult that they need to take down.
