The Legendary Hero Is Dead anime will premiere on April 6 this year. Additional cast has been announced, as well as a new key visual and a trailer featuring the series’ opening theme song, “Dead” by Masayoshi Oishi 3y385k
The newly announced cast includes Shintaro Asanum as Diego Valentine, Sayaka Oohara as Esel Borgnine, and Hiroki Toichi as Fieri Younis. Previously announced cast include:
Studio Liden Films is animating the series, with direction from Rion Kujo. Yuu Sato is doing the series composition, Yosuko Yabamoto on the character design, and Akito Fujiawara on the creature and prop design. A visual featuring Esel Borgnine has been revealed as well.
The Legendary Hero is Dead anime is based on a manga by Subaruichi that has been serialized from 2014 to 2020. It has 202 chapters, compiled into 19 volumes. Shogakukan Asia describes the plot as:
Touka is just your average (slightly perverted) farmer in the village of Cheza. While he daydreams about being a hero and getting the girl, the real hero, Sion, is out battling demons that threaten to invade the world! But one day, Touka accidentally kills the hero…?! With the Legendary Hero dead, who’s going to save the world now?! Touka quickly buries Sion’s body to hide the evidence, but wakes up the next day to discover he is no longer in his own body…!!
