Tsukihime - A Piece of Blue Glass Moon Gets 2024 Global Release Date z682c

Tsukihime – A Piece of Blue Glass Moon, from the creators of Fate/stay night and Witch on the Holy Night, will receive a global release in 2024, including an English translation along with the Japanese voiceover. The original visual novel, Tsukihime, was a breakout success for TYPE-MOON when it first released in December 2000, and paved the way for their best-known franchise, Fate/stay night in 2004. 2j1f6t

The Tsukihime remake project was first announced in 2008, but didn’t see a release until August 2021, as Tsukihime – A Piece of Blue Glass Moon, which covers the Arcueid and Ciel routes from the original game. The second part of the remake, Tsukihime – The Other Side of Red Garden will cover the Akiha, Hisui and Kohaku routes, and does not yet have a Japanese release date. Tsukihime – A Piece of Blue Glass Moon saw modest sales figures for a visual novel, shipping 240,000 units within the first two months of release.

A press release from Aniplex of America describes Tsukihime as follows:
Tsukihime follows the story of Shiki Tohno, a high school student who begins to see ‘lines of death’ after suffering an accident as a child. Following the death of his father, Shiki moves back home to live with his sister, Akiha Tohno, and begins to uncover dark truths lurking in his hometown. See the reimagined world of Tsukihime through Shiki’s eyes as he unravels mysterious killings and meets both fan-favorite and unexpected new characters.

Tsukihime exists within a very similar universe to Fate, but narratively takes place in an alternate timeline. Many characters from the two universes have “lookalikes” while certain key components (such as the magic system, the Mages’ Association, and more) are all common concepts that are shared across what fans call the “Nasuverse”—affectionately named after series creator Kinoko Nasu.

Tsukihime – A Piece of Blue Glass’s global release would see it become the second-ever TYPE-MOON visual novel to receive a global release, after the announced a film adaptation of Witch on the Holy Night in 2021, with a scheduled release sometime in 2023.
