A new episode from the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End mini-anime series, titled The Magic That Cuts Just About Anything and focusing on Übel and Land, has been released on the anime’s official YouTube channel. This episode marks the first appearance of Übel and Land in the mini-anime format. Season 2 of the main anime is set to premiere in January 2026.

The mini-anime series traditionally features short, original stories separate from the main series. It uses chibi-style character designs created by illustrator Mebachi, and focuses on the characters experimenting with different types of magic during their journey.

Episode 14 centers on Übel and Land, who first appeared in the anime during the First-Class Mage Exam arc in the second half of Season 1. In the episode, the two visit a restaurant where Übel uses her unique spell Reilzaiden, a magic that can cut through nearly anything. Ikumi Hasegawa voices Übel, while Shohei Komatsu voices Land.
